Ruth Lucille Cunningham, 89, of Green City, Missouri, died Friday, January 2, 2015 at Sullivan County Memorial Hospital in Milan. The daughter of Ernest and Rose (Banner) Geosling, she was born May 13, 1925, on a farm near Boyton, Missouri. In 1947 she married Leo G. Cunningham and to this marriage two sons were born.
She is survived by two sons, Russell Cunningham and wife Carolyn of Glenwood, Missouri and Stephen L. Cunningham of Green City; six grandchildren, Misty Allen and husband Jason, Millicent O'Brien and husband Kevin, Seth Cunningham, Caleb Cunningham and companion, Jessica Waddle, Micah Cunningham and companion, Ashley Cauthorn, and Christian Cunningham; two great grandchildren, Cash Cunningham and Liv Allen; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, five brothers, Gerald, Leon, Leamon, Glen, and Carroll Geosling; and one sister, Helen Geosling.
Lucille was a life long resident of the Green City area. She had worked at Hollister Inc. in Kirksville for over 30 years. She was a member of the Green City Assembly of God Church. Lucille enjoyed music and dancing and spending time with family and friends. She loved her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City with Rev. Alan Coonfield officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery east of Green City. Visitation is scheduled for one hour before the service at the funeral home. Honorary bearers are, Randy Kincannon, Leamon Geosling, and Mike Geosling. Casket bearers are Russell Cunningham, Stephen Cunningham, Seth Cunningham, Caleb Cunningham, Micah Cunningham, and Christian Cunningham.
