Daniel enlisted in the armed services on April 19, 1775. He served as a Sergeant in Captain Daniel Sherwin's Company for five days, according to records. And again on September 26, 1777 for one month and 15 day under General Gates.
Daniel was united in marriage on May 21, 1772 in Townsend, Massachusetts to Lydia Taylor. David and Lydia were blessed with the birth of four children during their 55 year marriage:

Deacon Jonathan Stow Adams
Daniel passed away at the age of 80. His obituary states that he held the position of Deacon for 45 years.
