Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery at Merrill, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time. Lucille was born the daughter of Frank and Esther (Sorenson) Phillips on Jan. 13, 1934, in Luton, Iowa. She graduated from Briar Cliff University and obtained her master’s degree from the University of South Dakota. Lucille worked at Swift and Company after high school for a few years before attending college. After college, she became a math teacher at Sergeant Bluff and also taught at Western Iowa Tech.
Lucille enjoyed playing cards, bridge, crossword puzzles, and her cats. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Lucille is survived by two brothers, Marvin (Loretta) Phillips and Thomas (Geraldine) Phillips, both of Sioux City; a niece, Courtney (Eric) Mossburg of Brunsville, Iowa; and a great-nephew, Caden.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Cathedral of the Epiphany Catholic Church, or Briar Cliff University.
