Helen attended Rocky Dale country school and graduated from Osceola High School. She received her Normal Training Certificate, teaching two terms at Washington #9 country school. She was baptized in 1931 at the Methodist Church in Osceola. In 1954, she was reaffirmed at the Presbyterian Church in Osceola.
Helen was united in marriage with Frank Reynolds on February 22, 1936. They drove a sleigh over the fence tops for their wedding at the Methodist/Protestant parsonage in Osceola. They celebrated 66 years of marriage. Three children were born to this union, Larry Keith, Darrell Dean and Linda Ann. They lived on their farm in Ward Township for sixty years.
Helen's greatest joy was working in her beautiful iris beds. She was a wonderful cook, making chocolate Rice Krispie treats for the grandkids on Halloween. She especially enjoyed her grandkids, great grandkids and seeing her great great grandson for the first time recently.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; brother Waldo (Bud) Cornelison; and her parents, Walter and Gertie Cornelison.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Larry (Virginia) of Weldon, Darrell (Linda) of Osceola; and daughter, Linda of Osceola; grandchildren, Penny Reynolds (her friend, Ronda Strough) of Perry, Sue Cumpton (Brian) of Garden City, MO, Tanya Desmond (Joe) of Norwalk, Faith Bowlsby (Jerry) of Hospers, and Heidi Burris (Shawn) of Osceola; great grandchildren, Kelsey and Courtney Cumpton, Kylar, Rylan and Kate Desmond, Annah, Saydee, Zowie, Tucker and Dakoda Strough, Justin, Jared and Hailey, Josh and Jeremy Bowlsby and Joni Burris; great great grandson, Jamison Bowlsby; sister, Vi North of Osceola; and sister-in-law, Ruth Cornelison of Bettendorf.
