Mack A. Godsey, age 91, of Bristol, TN. passed away Thursday, January 08, 2015.

Mack was born January 19, 1923 to the late Abe and Nettie Godsey. He was a lifelong resident of Bristol, TN.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Snyder Godsey and his brother, Jack Godsey
He was a former Police Chief of Bristol, TN. from 1963 to 1982.

He served as a veteran of the United States Army in WWII and was a member of Darby’s Ranger serving in Sicily, North Africa and Italy.

Mack was also a 32nd Degree Mason.

Mack is survived by one daughter, Janie Godsey Landis and her husband, Steve of St. Simons Island, GA.; two granddaughters: Kelly Landis Walker of Raleigh N.C. and Stephanie Landis Steel of San Diego, CA, four great-grandchildren: Bradley Walker, Ashlyn Walker, Ty Steel and Cooper Mack Steel; Nephews: Jack Godsey, Jr., Eddie Booher, Benny Herndon, Jack Brooks, Jerry Brooks and niece: Vickie Herndon Runyon.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, January 11, 2015 in Mountain View Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Scott Price officiating. Entombment will follow.
