Robert W. Linger, age 83, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Holbrook’s Nursing Home in Buckhannon. He was born May 3, 1931 in Elkins, WV, a son of the late Hugh and Dessie Crites Linger. On July 10, 1968 he married Patsy Javins who survives. Also surviving is one son, Aaron Linger and wife Penelope of Pittsburgh, PA; one daughter, Alice Howard and husband Joe of Queens, WV; two grandsons, Grayson Linger of Pittsburgh and Andrew Howard of Queens and two granddaughters, Olivia Linger of Pittsburgh and Rachel Howard of Queens. Mr. Linger was retired from G.C. Murphy’s. He was a member of the Church Of The Transfiguration. He was active in Boy Scouts as a child and as a Scout Leader. Mr. Linger showed American Saddlebred Horses for a number of years. Friends will be received Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the Episcopal Church Of The Transfiguration with Father John Valentine officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
