Robert P. Gibbs, age 93 of Dayton, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 at Grandview Hospital. He was born January 11, 1921 in Hazel Green, Kentucky the son of the late Ransom and Winnie (Carpenter) Gibbs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert J. Gibbs; 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Thelma (Oswald) Gibbs; 2 daughters, Dee Ann Fisher and Becky (Jerry) Oakley; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Also his constant companion, Abby and granddog, Tara.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII from December 1942 to December 1945.
Worked as a crane operator for Muth Brothers Moving and Riggers Inc. for 30 years, until he retired in 1980.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the the time of the funeral at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 12, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home North Chapel 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424.

Burial will follow at Willow View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
