Obituary of Sadie Walter
Mrs. Sadie Walter, 89, of Homewood Retirement Center, Martinsburg, formerly of Claysburg, died Tuesday, July 18, 2000, at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring.
A funeral was held Friday at the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren, Claysburg RD 1, by Rev. George D. Ebersole.
Burial was in Upper Claar Cemetery.
Mrs. Walter was born March 22, 1911, in Klahr, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Musselman) Musselman.
She married Russell Walter April 7, 1928, in Claysburg. He died Dc. 12, 1986.
Mrs. Walter is survived by a son, Charles F. of Claysburg; four daughters: H. Joan Doran and Peggy Wright, both of Imler, and Shirley Roudabush and Wilma Hainsey, both of Claysburg; and two sisters: Betty Claar of the Morrisons Cove Home, Martinsburg, and Wilma Metzgar of Claysburg.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren: Michael Doran, Elaine Crist, Kathleen Gazzara, Deborah Chase, Cindy Dively, Linda Fluke, Karen Harr, Sharon Nale, Allen Hainsey and T. J. Wright; 16 great-grandchildren: Matt and Erin Johnson, Danelle Crist, Nickolas Gazzara, Jessica and Justin Weyant, Kaitlyn and Kayla Fluke, Vicki, Stephen and Kristen Harr, Micahel, Cory and Kyle Nale, Coty and Nicholas Hainsey and Hillary Doran; and four step-grandchildren: Sue Fickes and Larry, Charles and Michael Musselman.
She was preceded in death by a son, Darl T., in 1986.
Mrs. Walter retired from the former Ritchey's Store, Claysburg, and previously had worked at the former Shaffer's Store, Claysburg, with many years of service.
She was a member of the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren.
Leslie Funeral Home of Claysburg, was in charge of the arrangements.
