In Memory of
Mr. Joseph Daniel Green, age 76, of Rome, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015, at a local hospital.
Mr. Green was born in Floyd County, Georgia on September 7, 1938, son of the late Everett Green and the late Clara Thacker Green. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert "Bobby" Green and James Green.
Mr. Green was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving from 1961 until 1963. He was of the Baptist faith and attended the Riverside Baptist Church. Prior to his retirement in 2001, Mr. Green worked for a number of years at Inland Container.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Robertson Green, to whom he was married on November 7, 1959; a daughter, Lisa Terry and her husband, Todd, Rome; a son, Todd Green, Rome; four grandchildren, Alexis, Kadyn, Lizbeth and Samuel Terry; two brothers, John Green, Taylorsville and Charles Green, Rome; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Riverside Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Lambert officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens with the American Legion Post #5 Honor Guard presenting military honors.
Both active and honorary pallbearers are asked to assemble at the church on Friday at 2:30pm and include: Active: Buddy Green, Phillip Green, Mark Green, Ricky Green, Guy Green, and Clay Sargent. Honorary: Lamar Sullins and Ron Crumley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Riverside Baptist Church, 48 Ash Street, Rome, GA 30161.
