Funeral services for Onzell Shikles Brown, 80, of Helicon willb e at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at Liberty Baptist Church, Pastor Joyce Tyson officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.
Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in Addison is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Brown entered into rest Monday, Nov. 7, in Cullman. She was born April 20, 1931. She attended Vinemont High School and was a member of Foundation of Jesus Church for 10 years and she loved to sing to the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Julia Alvis Shikles; a son, James Terry Brown; a son-in-law, Timothy Johnson; two brothers, Charles and R.B. Shikles; and four sisters, Eunice Mayhall, Roberta Stewart, Inez Motes and Mary Lou Mayfield.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, James Hobert Brown; a daughter, Kathy Brown Johnson; she was “Granny” to three grandchildren, Timothy Adam (Kim) Johnson, Julie Johnson (Mark) Grimmett and Tori Brown (Matthew) Cooner; two great-grandchildren, Tatum McCown and Hayden Cooner; and was also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
