Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Samhold Lutheran Church in Gonvick, MN at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Kris Snyder officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley. Interment will be at the Samhold Lutheran Cemetery in Gonvick, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
Adabelle was born on December 26, 1921 at Gonvick, Minnesota the daughter of Theodore and Emily (Gustafson) Eck. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended Windsor Country School. She married Claire Sather on December 24, 1941 at the Gonvick Parsonage. Adabelle worked at the Good Samaritan Center in Housekeeping at Clearbrook for over 19 years and she also worked at the Lefse Plant. She enjoyed giving perms and cutting her family and friend’s hair. Adabelle was very fond of having coffee with the neighbors and getting together with family. She loved canning, gardening, bus trips and playing cards. She was a member of Samhold Lutheran Church of Gonvick where she was very active with WELCA. Adabelle was a member of the Gonvick American Legion Auxiliary for many years. She has been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center since August of 2009. Blessed be her memory.
She is survived by her 5 daughters – Beverly (Jim) Shelquist of Clearbrook, MN Shirley (Roger) Bergerson of Duluth, MN Susan Willette of Bagley, MN Karen (Larry) Halvorson of Bagley, MN Betty (Virgil) Johnson of Bemidji, MN Two sons – Chuck (Vicky) Sather of Nisswa, MN Tom (Rosemary) Sather of Dilworth, MN Sister – Patricia “Tippy” (Harlow) Berg of Gonvick, MN Brother – Robert (Mavis) Eck of Bemidji, MN 19 grandchildren 46 great grandchildren 5 great great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; Sisters – Wanda Dyrdahl and Helen Bakke; Brothers – Roger, Everett, Walter, Manfred, Marvin, Russell and Ruebon; Son-in-law – Greg Willette and great grandson- Luke Ronning.
