Ella Lou Hughes a lifelong resident of Durant, Oklahoma and beloved family member went home to be with her Lord and Savior in Calera, Oklahoma on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the age of 95. She was born to Robert and Alta Mae (Lily) Rigdon on September 23, 1919 in Durant, Oklahoma.

Ella Lou Rigdon was married to Albert Wayne Hughes who preceded her in death. Mrs. Hughes was a member of the Bushnell Baptist Church. She was employed as a peanut harvester for a peanut company in Denison, Texas for 20 years.

She is survived by her daughter; son; 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Alta Mae Rigdon; husband, Albert Wayne Hughes; sisters, Dorothy "Dottie" Wilson and Faye Thomas; great-granddaughter, Catherine Dillingham.

A church service in honor of her memory will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Bushnell Baptist Church, south of Durant on HWY 78 towards Roberta in Bryan County with Kim McGehee officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Wayne Dillingham, Jon David Hughes, Scott Hughes, Jeff Hughes, Craig Young, Cody Young, Dusty Young, Trey Daniel and Jason Simpson. Honorary pallbearers will be Eli Young, Cody Hughes and Evan Dillingham.
