Grandmaw was a survivor. After having 12+? children with Louis Demetrius Lange whom she married in 1884, they lived in Jeanerette where he died in 1915. She was a midwife, doctor and even raced horses. Although dirt poor they were ALWAYS clean. She moved the family to Port Arthur, Texas after he died and lived to age 97.
