Margaret Odden, 95, of Cumberland died Monday, April 24, 2006 at Cumberland Extended Care Unit.
She was born January 17, 1911 in Cook County, IL to Olaf and Kathinka Louise (Hansen) Renden.
Margaret was raised in Chicago (Norwood Park). She graduated from high school in Chicago.
She was married in Chicago, IL on December 26, 1934 to Ole Odden who preceded her in death on February 23, 1997. They lived in Lake Geneva and then moved to the Timberland area in 1940 where they farmed until 1952.
Ole and Margaret owned and operated Odden Flowers until 1977. Margaret was an active member of First Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and 4-H. She also cooked at the Cumberland Schools for many years.
She is survived by one son, David (Mary) Odden of Cumberland; one daughter, Valerie (Larry) Johnson of Two Harbors, MN; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by one daughter, Valoris Lindemann, one son, Richard and two sisters, Kay Odden and Florence Lange.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at First Lutheran Church, Cumberland with Rev. Timothy Schmidt officiating.
Burial was in Timberland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Rance Lindemann, Rodney Lindemann, Janelle Melhouse, Terri Massie, Trevor Odden, Tania Schwalbe, Travis Odden, Matthew Johnson, Peter Johnson and Krista Johnson.
Honorary Pallbearers were Liz Hanson, Bernice Nyhus, Lois Odden and Kathy Lindfors.
