John Plank, youngest son of Sol and Mary Plank, was born Feb. 26, 1912 in Strang, Nebraska. The family moved to Harper in 1916 where he resided until his death on June10, 1986.

On June 18, 1938, he was married to Estella King, who preceded him in death on Dec. 26, 1985.

He was a farmer all of his life. after graduating from harper High School in 1930, he became a service representative for the Delco Light Co., which led to a parallel lifetime vocation in plumbling, heating and electrical work.

In his youth, he was baptized and became a faithful member of Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church. He was also preceded in death by four sisters and one brother and is survived by three nieces and five nephews.

Six children also survive: Max, Dennis, Jay, Marianne Bass, Linda, and Kevin. Also surviving are ten grandchildren.

In his later years, he used his vocational aptitutde to serve the senior citizens in the Harper area. He also spent much time in volunteer service to Friendship Meals of Harper, to which memorial contributions may be made.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 AM Friday, June 13, 1986 in the Elliott Chapel, Harper, with Rev. Weldon Martens officiating.
