GAINESBORO — Funeral services for Mrs. Ila Mae Chaffin Anderson, 96, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 4, from the chapel of Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will be in Rash Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the time of services.

Mrs. Anderson passed away on Friday, Jan. 2, at the Mabry Health Care Center in Gainesboro.

She was born on Feb. 15, 1918, in Jackson County to the late James Whitman Chaffin and Sally Loma Gentry Chaffin.

Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker and a member of the Antioch Church of Christ.

She was married to her late husband, Johnie William Anderson, on Oct. 28, 1934.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by two sons and three daughters-in-law, Roger and Ruby Anderson of Gainesboro, Edward L. and Barbara Anderson of Carthage, and Frances (Tootie) Anderson of Gainesboro; a daughter, Joyce Anderson Jenkins of Murfreesboro; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Susan Anderson Elkins and Tommy Elkins, Paul Reed Anderson and Phyllis Anderson, Gina Anderson Key and Jimmy Key, Tammie Anderson Brown and Tim Brown, Donna Anderson Hall and Brian Hall, John Davis Anderson and Shanna Anderson, Amanda Anderson Denning and Mark Denning and Aletha Anderson Thomas and Michael Thomas; a step-grandson, Jimmy Jenkins; a step-granddaughter and her spouse, Beverly and Elmer Gordon; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; two step-great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Vida E. Anderson of Gainesboro and Anna Marie Loftis of Warren, Mich.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, James Paul Anderson and Johnie Kenneth Anderson; a grandson, George Anderson Nipper; a great-granddaughter, Natalie Anderson; a sister, Willie Chaffin; and a son-in-law, Jim Jenkins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rash Cemetery or to the donor’s favorite charity by contacting the business office at the funeral home.

Bros. Kenneth Anderson, Edward L. Anderson, John Anderson, and Paul Reed Anderson will officiate at the services.
