Also Rittenhousen.

Born 1695/6 in Cresheim (now Mt. Airy), Germantown Twp (now in City of Philadelphia), Philadelphia Co, PA. Died in Rosemont, Amwell (now Delaware) Twp, Hunterdon Co, NJ.

Father Gerard/Gerhard/Garret Rittenhouse/Rittinghausen, b 1674. Mother probably Margaret Ann Revacomb/Rubicam. Gerard may have had a wife, previous to Catharine Howell, by whom he had sons Garrett (1721-1797), Abraham (1723-1815), Jacob (1725-1811), and Henry R. (1732-1815). Notice that these sons' birth years would overlap with those of his children by Catharine Howell.

In addition to the four linked below, William and Catharine had these five children:

Priscilla (1719/20 - bef 18-Oct-1757) m. Christopher Search
Moses Hemphill (1722-1774) m. Mary Unknown
Susannah Sarah (abt 1727 - ?) m. Justus Wilhelm Rubenkam
Hannah (abt 1729 - 19-May-1798) m. A. H. Dalrymple
Anne (abt 1731 - ?)

Gravesite Details

The characters do not seem to read WR, but (1) the stone is next to his wife CR, (2) the DOD is correct, and (3) in 1935 Olive Barrick Rowland saw "WR."
