Born September 17, 1907, in Russell Springs, Kentucky, he was the son of William Taylor Sullivan and Laura (Gentry) Sullivan. He married the former Bertha June Burton on December 29, 1929, and she preceded him in death on September 20, 1997.
Survivors include two sons, William Edward Sullivan of Shelbyville, Glendo L. Sullivan of Ocala, Florida.; two daughters, Doris Jean Voris and Joyce Larene Davis, both of Shelbyville; three sisters, Dorothy Kell of Louisville, Kentucky, Nina Rooks and Edith Hadley, both of Indianapolis, 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, one grandson, four brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Sullivan worked as a contractor until his retirement in 1979. He was the owner of Sullivan Motel in Shelbyville. He also owned and raced thoroughbred horses.
He was a member of Shelbyville Church of the Nazarene.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Ed Mohr officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
