Published in The Paducah Sun, Paducah, McCracken Co., Ky., 15 May 2000 - METROPOLIS, Ill.--Myrtle M. Simpson, 78, of Metropolis died at 4:20 a.m. Sunday at Good Samaritan Care Center.

Mrs. Simpson was a member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda Powell; a son, Victor Baggett; a sister, Theresa Potter; a brother, Johnny Yecker; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Simpson; and a brother. Her parents were Victor and Martha Jackson Yecker.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home. The Rev. David Siere will officiate, with burial in Massac Memorial Gardens.
