Ginger McGuire Brown, 58, passed away peacefully in Houston, Texas on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 after a long illness.

Ginger was born in Hamilton, Ohio on December 7, 1956 to Joseph and Patricia (Galloway) McGuire. She grew up in Hamilton, Ohio; Ennis, Texas; and the San Luis Valley in Colorado. She graduated from Sangre De Cristo High School in 1975. On March 13, 1976 she married Marvin Brown and they made their home in Center, Colorado.

She worked many years in the insurance industry. Ginger, also known as Ninny, was a very kind and caring person. She loved spending time with her family, friends and cooking, but most of all she loved planting flowers and working countless hours in her yard. She had a great sense of humor and a generous heart. Ginger was a special person to so many and cherished her friendships. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God and the love and prayers of family and friends carried her through this trying time. Ginger will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin Brown; two daughters: Elizabeth Brown and Brittany Brown; two brothers: Joe McGuire and wife Cheri; Bill McGuire and wife Johna; two sisters: Ruth Spaniel and husband Gregory; Sally Scruggs and husband Charles; two grandchildren: Joseph and Jazper Brown; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Patricia McGuire, one son Brian David Brown and mother-in-law Thurmma Brown.

Visitation services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis, Texas.
