Ramon Horace Fent slipped quietly from this life on December 27, 2014. He was born on May 13, 1927 in Orlando, Oklahoma, the 6th child born into a sharecropper family. His parents were Elizabeth Catherine (Lizzie) Christ Fent and Horace Dunlap Fent.

Ramon served in the United States Navy during WWII. He attended Oklahoma State University and after graduation he secured a job as an agriculture teacher at Omega, Oklahoma. Seven years later, he would accept a position as agriculture and F.F.A. Advisor at Wyandotte School System in Wyandotte, Oklahoma, where he put in 27 years of service.

Ramon is survived by his wife, Gala of the home; a son Roger Fent and his wife Sherri and a daughter Laura Freeman all of Miami, Oklahoma. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Ramon Horace Fent will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 2, 2015 at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home, in Miami, with John Crowley, officiating. Interment will be in the G.A.R. Cemetery, in Miami. Pallbearers will be Joe Clapp, Dale Clapp, Russell Fent, Nathan Fent, Zachary Goforth and Allan Goforth. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Tomlin, Jack Shumaker, Jim Clapp and Ron Clapp.
