Ellen E. Prestil, age 84, died Dec. 28, 2014, at Cedar Crest. She was born in Minneapolis, MN on June 11, 1930, the daughter of William and Julia Walchuk. She married Fabian A. Prestil in Minneapolis on May 8, 1954, and he preceded her in death on May 12, 1998. Ellen had worked as a beautician and teacher's aid. She was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Catholic Church Women, and past president of the Altar Society. She was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, volunteer for Meals on Wheels, ECHO, and enjoyed her Monday Bridge group and Ceramics. Ellen loved being a grandmother and showed great pride in their life stories, and her baking was second to none. Ellen is survived by her 2 sons; 2 daughters; 6 grandchildren; and 2 sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 brothers, John and Harry Walchuk; and sister, Anna Adler. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Schneider Apfel Schneider and Schneider Funeral Home.
