WEST COLUMBIA–A memorial service for Jean Williamson Chavis, 67, of West Columbia, will be held at 2pm Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1724 W. Main Street, Lexington, SC. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.

Ms. Chavis passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014. She was born August 31, 1947 in Orangeburg, SC, to the late Welbourne Thomas and Doris Gwendolyn Johnson Williamson.

She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church of Lexington. After raising her children she enjoyed a long career as an oncology nurse with the Baptist Hospital and later become the Director of Personal Touch Volunteers, and was also a volunteer at Day Break Pregnancy Center.

She is survived by her son, Eddie Zeigler (Julie) of Chapin; daughter, Connie Wannamaker of Lexington; three granddaughters, Karoline Zeigler, Anna Grace Zeigler, and Bella Grace Wannamaker; one grandson, Dakota Zeigler; sister, Ellen Edwards of Ft. Lawn, SC; brother, Tommy Williamson of Orangeburg; son-in-law, John Wannamaker; and daughter-in-law, Terra Garman; brother-in-law, Fred Addison.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Steven Zeigler and a sister, Kathi Addison.
