Richard W, Likens, 94, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014. He was born in Waterloo, June 29, 1920 to Clyde and Flora ( Fenstimaker) Likens. He retired in 1981 after 41 years as a conductor on B&O Railroad. He served in the US Army as a Staff Sargent during World War II. He was a member of Salem Center Presbyterian Church, Garrett Masonic Lodge, The Scottish Rite, Mizpah Shrine - Pokagon Shrine Club, The American Legion Garrett, IN, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Garrett, Charter member of the Garrett Elks, and also a member of the Eagles in Garrett. He married Mary Kathryn Haverfield December 21, 1947 in Kendallville and she passed away August 3, 2001. Surviving are his son and daughter in law David (Bobbie) Likens of Benton, KY, a daughter Sue Ann Williams of Angola, two grandchildren Shawn Severe, and Chad (Monica) Severe, three great grandchildren Luke, Tommy, and Emily Severe. He was also preceded in death his son in law Randy Williams. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 5, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home Hudson with Pastor Thomas Smith officiating. Masonic Services at 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the Funeral Home. Calling will be at the Funeral Home Sunday 2:00-6:00. Burial at Christian Union Cemetery with military grave side services.
