Norman C. Curry, 83, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:35 a.m. on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Kindred Transitional Care of Columbus. He was born on May 8, 1931 in Russell Springs, Kentucky the son of William Matt and Laura Belle (Conover) Curry. He was born and raised in Kentucky and has lived most of his life in Columbus, Indiana. He was a construction superintendent having worked for Milestone in Columbus and E. H. Hughes in Indianapolis. He was a member of the Indiana Laborers Union and enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing, NASCAR, baseball and football.

He married Helen Conover in Russell Springs, Kentucky on August 8, 1953. He then was married to Sandra Sue Bauder in Columbus, Indiana on January 1, 1980 and she preceded him in death on November 27, 2007. Other survivors include his daughters, Robin Curry, Gloria Curry, Amy (Mader) Dubois, Brenda Harden and Nina Curry all of Columbus, and Beverly Curry of Richmond, Kentucky; his sisters, Lenos Henderson of Columbus and Emily Blair of Russell Springs, Kentucky; his 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Sandra Sue Curry; daughter, Judy Gail Curry; sisters, Rena Brewer and Stella Pearl Bryant and brother, William Eugene Curry.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Pastor Harold Scholl officiating. Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Lung Association.
