Obituary

R. D, Worley, aged 72, of Whitney, died after a long illness at approximately 1:45 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon, September 3, at the Holt-Archer Hospital in Meridian. Mr. Worley was the father of Joe Worley of Clifton, who is division merchandise manager for the Community Public Service Company.

Funeral services for Mr. Worley were held at 3:00 o'clock on Thursday afternoon, September 5, at the Missionary Baptist Church in Whitney, and interment followed in the Whitney Cemetery.

Mr. Worley was a retired farmer and a former resident of Bosque County.

Left to survive Mr. Worley are his wife, Mrs. R. D. Worley of Whitney; seven sons: Joe Worley of Clifton, T. F. Worley of Hurst, C.E. Worley, W.H. Worley of Archer City, Dan Worley of Temple, and Luther Worley of Sutton of West Virginia; four daughters: Mrs. J. H. Chumbley and Miss Daisey Worley of Hawthorne, California; Mrs. F. O. Jackson of Fort Worth; and Mrs H. B. Payton of Quebec, Canada; two brothers: George Worley of Uvalde and Tom Worley of Whitney; and also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Attending the services for Mr. Worley in Whitney on Thursday afternoon of last week from Clifton were Mrs. S. M. Ringness and Mrs. Aubrey Robert of the
Community Public Service Company here.
