Henry was the son of George and Emeline nee Robisson. He grew to maturity in Maryland, but in 1880 was living with his uncle James Robinette in Montevallo, VernonCounty, Missouri. He would marry Delila Jane Lyall who in 1880 was living in Madison, Harrison County, Missouri.

Henry and Delila would move to Oregon where Henry would homestead two parcels in Williamette Township, Union County in 1891 and 1893. The family would move to Arizona shortly after this time.

Henry worked for the Arizona Canal Company and at one time had a wood and coal business in Phoenix. Henry was active in the First Baptist Church in Phoenix.
