Wyatt Stark Seale was born in North Carolina 16 Jun 1821. He was the son of James and Louisa Shepherd Seale who died 20 Sep 1900. He grew up in Alabama and married Winnifred Carter Asbury who was born 30 Sep 1824 and died 8 Nov 1919. They were married in Sumpter Co, AL 26 Oct 1845.
They came from Alabama to Texas in 1850 and settled at Clear Creek. They had nine children: James Madison, Julia Ann, John K., Jesse Walter, R. Paralee, Albert T., Mary Melissa, Wyatt Henry and infant daughter.
James Madison married first to Laura McDaniel and after her death 22 Feb 1881 he married a second time to Mary H. Evans Lee. Julia Ann married William A. Vestal, John K. married Jessie Brown, Jesse Walter married Mildred Perkins, R. Paralee (died at the age of 84 years) married Oliver B. Perkins, Albert T. married Hettie Richardson, Mary Melissa married William Ely Powell, and Wyatt Henry married Beulah Johnson.
Wyatt chose the vocation of planter in North Carolina and followed it in Alabama and on to Texas. He served Leon County as Commissioner of Precinct #4 from 1886 to 1890 and again from 1892 to 1894. He and Winnifred were charter members of the Clear Creek Baptist Church, and he was a deacon of that church.
Wyatt Stark Seale, the fine Christian man that he was, was a Master Mason and visited the Keechi Lodge #140 on many occasions.
