Mrs. Eugene Wagenecht, 73, of 307 Weat Main St., passed away Sunday morning June 18 at 7:45 at Pleasantview nursing home. Funeral services were conducted at Tomlimson Funeral Home Tuesday at 1 p.m. with interment in the Lyndon Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the United Methodist Church. Rev. Ben White of United Methodist Church officiated. Mrs. Eloise Stone was organist. Pallbearers were Robert Aiken, Edwin Schroeder, James and Arnold Prestley, Thomas Beswick, and Laverne Wiebenga.
Irene Aiken was born 29 October 1904 in Morrison, the daughter of Abel and Jennie Shipma Aiken. She attended the Morrison schools and also in North Dakota. She was married in Morrison 2 February 1922 to Eugene Wagenecht. She had lived here all her life except for 8 years in North Dakota. A proficient seamstress, she followed this profession until retirement several years ago. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, one daughter, Virginia Lange, of Camanche, Ia.; two sons, Wayne fo Rockford and Gail of Wheaton; one sister, Mrs. Howard (Anna) Daniels of Morrison, seven grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers , and three sisters.
