Sarah was the daughter of Lenox and Nancy Jane (Groom) Fullerton. Her family moved to Grant City, Missouri in 1880 when she was three years of age.

Sarah married Henry Otto Harding, the son of James Henderson and Mary Ann (Williams) Harding. on March 5, 1896 in Grant City, MO. Three children were born to this union: Elvy W., Afra-Aetta "Peggy", and Luther G.

In 1916 the family moved to Indianhill, WY. where they homesteaded and became engaged in the livestock business. This became the nucleus of the present Kirkbride-Harding Livestock Company. They moved to Chugwater, WY. in 1938 where they continued their livestock business until 1940, when Henry Harding died.
