Born July 14, 1934 in Akron, IN he was a 1952 graduate of Tech High School and a veteran of the US Navy, serving during the Korean War.
Fred was a machinist at GM Truck and Bus for over 30 years. He enjoyed camping, traveling, crossword puzzles, and especially playing golf. He had been a member of Emmanuel Church of Greenwood and White River Baptist Church.
Survivors: his wife of 55 years, Peggy Jo (Wilson); children, Joy (Ralph) Bork, Gay (Brian) Shingleton, Glee Messer; sister, Donna (George) McAlister; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, William D. & Verna Bemenderfer and siblings, William, Harry and Norma.
