Funeral services for Mr. James Edward Evans, age 93 of Dubach, will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at New Prospect Baptist Church 3438 Hwy 167 Dubach, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, Louisiana. Mr. Evans was born in Jonesboro Louisiana on July 23, 1921 and passed away at his home in Dubach on December 22, 2014. Mr. Evans honorably served his country in the Navy and served in both Korea and World War II. He attended New Prospect Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, wood working, and all family activities. Mr. Evans graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1952 with a degree in Forestry. He went to work for the US Geological Survey in 1952 and was assigned survey projects which gave him and his family the opportunity to travel from coast to coast. Mr. Evans accepted a promotion with the US Geological Survey in 1964 in Reston Virginia where he spent the remainder of his career. He was a loving and wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and father-in-law. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his loving wife Zelia Faye Evans. He is survived by his son Thomas Evans and wife Denise; son Dwayne Evans and wife Terri: 4 grandchildren: Nickie, Tim, Brooke, and Will Evans and 7 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday December 26, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the New Prospect Baptist Church
