Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at 10:00 AM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Aaron Paul Castille, age 93, who died on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at his residence.

Reverend Thomas Voorhies, Pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott, will conduct the memorial service. Lectors will be Louis Vincent and Francis Fontenot.

Survivors include wife of 71 years, Verna Stutes Castille; his daughter, Jodie Castille Powell and husband Tommy; his sister, Mary Ann Vincent and husband Louis; his brother, Carol Castille; two grandchildren, Ryan Powell and Ashley Powell David and husband Kenneth; five great grandchildren, Kinsley, Trenton, Ashlyn, Blaze and Andrew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul H. Castille and Laura Roy Castille; and his brothers, Clyde and Lawrence Castille.

Mr. Castille was a resident of Lafayette for most of his life. At an early age he joined the Civil Conservation Corps. Upon his return, he joined the La. National Guard and then enlisted in the United States Army during WWII serving with the 256th Infantry. After his discharge, Aaron enjoyed horse racing as a jockey at the Bush Tracks. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1286, the D.A.V., and the Ridge Road Riders. He enjoyed farming and gardening.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
