MRS. WILLIAM B. SITES

Last Friday, May 9th, 1919, occurred the death of Jane Elizabeth Sites, in her home in Richland township, after long weary years of total helplessness caused by a stroke of paralysis on November 12th, 1908. Through all these years she bore her affliction patiently, and was profoundly appreciative of the loving care and attention given her by the members of her family and by kind neighbors and friends.

She was a daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Ginger, and was born May 12, 1858. With the exception of the first few months, she spent her entire life in Delaware county. On November 16, 1881, she became the wife of William B. Sites. Five children were born to them, three of whom together with the husband are still living. They are Cyrus, of Bonetrail, N.D.; and Iva and James, who are still at home. She also leaves one grand-daughter, one brother, Daniel Ginger, of Hartley, Iowa, and one sister Mrs. Phoebe Adams of California, as well as numerous other relatives. at the funeral services, which were held last Monday afternoon, there were present from a distance Mrs. Abbie Ginger and her son William from Sutherland, Iowa; Mrs. and Mrs. Daniel Ginger of Hartley, Bert Goffe, of Cedar Rapids; A. J. Lett of Delhi, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Penrod and daughter, Mildred, Mr. and Mrs. Chas Sherrer, and Mrs. Geo Groetzinger, all of Winthrop.

During her active years, Mrs. Sites was not only a faithful wife and mother, but a kind and helpful neighbor and friend, always ready to lend assistance to the unfortunate. She was an earnest Christian, who tried to live her faith. Those who have known her intimately feel that a good woman has gone to her well-earned rest.
