SALT LAKE CITY - Beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and daughter of our Father in Heaven passed away on March 16, 2001, after a brief illness.
She was born on May 10, 1926, in Brigham City, Utah, a daughter of Orville D. and Mildred Boden Lund. Shortly after graduation from high school she married the love of her life, Ralph Eric Umbreit on Valentine's Day in 1946.
Through her patience, love and kindly determination Ralph joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1962 and they were later sealed in the Logan Temple on August 21, 1963.
She and her husband owned and operated Umbreit's Jewelry Store in Spokane, Washington for 37 years. They were a great team. He was the salesman and she did everything else from bookkeeping and inventory management to showcase displays and advertising. She even became accomplished at sales herself, which of course allowed her husband time for his hunting and fishing.
Maureen loved gardening at her home in Spokane. She was also an accomplished seamstress, meticulous homemaker, and great cook. Her grandchildren loved her homemade chocolate silk pie, fudge, and Danish beverage.
