Bob was the son of Lester Paul and Lillian (Andrews) Gilmore. He had one brother, Paul L. Gilmore. Bob served two stints in the Navy during the Korean Conflict, and was honorably discharged in 1954. He was married to his wife of 47 years, Marie Ann (Savage) Gilmore of Harrison, AR on September 11, 1955. Bob was retired from the Frisco/Burlington Northern Railroad where he worked as a carman. He spent many hours devoted to woodworking and produced furniture and other items for various family members. He was also an accomplished wood carver. Bob enjoyed music and was often a featured soloist at South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield, and more recently at Riverdale Baptist Church in Nixa. He also sang bass for the Fisherman Gospel Quartet for a number of years.
