Evelyn was united in marriage to Philip “Pat” O’Brien on July 22, 1942 in Aberdeen. They lived in various places over the years when Pat was in the military, serving in both WWII and the Korean War, but they always returned to Aberdeen.
Evelyn was active in several Bridge Clubs and enjoyed spending time playing cards with her friends. She had a passion for golf and played when she was younger. This love for sports continued after he was grown and she continued to faithfully follow NSU basketball and football games. Family was very important to Evelyn. She truly loved her son and his family.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Pat, and her parents, Casper and Olive.
