Sandra A. “Sandy” Stewart, 75, of Lawsonham Road Rimersburg, died on Saturday Dec 20, 2014 at her home.
She was born in St. Charles on August 27th 1939. She was the daughter of the late Milford G and Willihavene E. Blair Bailey.
Sandy graduated from Redbank Valley High School.
She married Franklin D. “Frank” Stewart on October 25th 1963. They were married 46 years, frank preceded her in death on July 30, 2009.
Sandy worked for O-I Glass Plant in Clarion in her early years and then at Karen’s Korner Restaurant in Sligo, now known as the Korner Restaurant in Rimersburg.
She attended the Distant Baptist Church; Sandy really enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grand-daughter.
She loved to attend family events and bring her famous peanut butter icing cake. She also love reading her bible and her close relationship with the Lord.
Sandy is survived by her children, Tammy Schmader and husband Kevin, and Barry Stewart and wife Leanne all of Rimersburg, four grandchildren Brittany McGuirk and husband Justin of Miola, Brooke Schmader, Braxton Stewart and Layton Stewart all of Rimersburg, a great granddaughter Addison McGruik, and five sisters Joan Sherman of Texas, Karen Ortz and Husband Ray, Diane Mann and husband Ken, Linda Sherry, and Deb Rupp and husband Terry all of New Bethlehem. Also surviving are sister-in-laws Nan Bailey of Folcroft, Pennsylvania, Nancy Schaeffer and husband Henry of Sligo, brother-in-laws, Buddy McIntyre of Templeton and Dick Stewart of Rimersburg, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a sister Sue McIntyre, a brother Jerry Bailey, brother-in-laws Dan Sherman, James “Jimmy”, Edward “Eddie”, and William “Bill” Stewart, and sister-in-laws Elaine Stewart, and Irene Wolfe.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today December 22nd, 2014 at the Burns Funeral Home and Crematorium Inc. 434 Main St. Rimersburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday December 23rd 2014 in the funeral home with the Rev. Lyle Westover pastor of distant Baptist Church pastor Presiding.
Interment will follow in the Rimersburg Cemetery.
