DeWyse, Betty L. Essexville
Betty L. DeWyse, age 91 years, died Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at her home with her daughters by her side. She was born December 15, 1923 to the late John and Sadie (Vaughan) Grunden in East Tawas and has resided in Bay City since 1941. She was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church) and the League of Catholic Women and Men. She is survived by her three daughters: Barbara Sullivan (Glen Winchell), Bindi Sampley, Brenda (Dave) Curtis; six grandchildren: Kelly (Terry) Monville, Heather Sullivan, Michael (Carrie) Sullivan, Ben (Tami) Curtis, Paul Curtis, Sarah (Jon) Mroz; nine great-grandchildren: Ethan, Emma, Elle, Gina, Megan, and Anderson Curtis, Charlotte Mroz, Jack, Hannah, and Isabella Monville, Tyler and Lily Placha. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Forest O. Butler; her second husband, Theodore A. DeWyse; and her step-son, David DeWyse. Betty's family would like to thank her caregivers- Jenny, Ronda, Joni, Jackie, Alice, and Donna for their dedication and love, and the staff of McLaren Hospice for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place and a private family Committal Service will be held at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be designated for Bay Medical Care Facility or McLaren Hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the W. A. Trahan Funeral Chapel.
