Mrs. Leola Newman Rumley, 97, of 1514 Lees Chapel Road, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998 at Moses Cone Hospital.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 at Hanes-Lineberry North Elm Street Chapel. Interment will be at the Newnam Family Cemetery in Madison, NC.
Mrs. Rumley attended Lankford Memorial Baptist Church since 1954. She loved helping people, nature and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Calvin Rumley, and son, Robert Rumley.
Surviving are her daughter, Mary Phillips, daughter and son-in-law Margaret and Harvey Park of Greensboro; daughter-in-law Ann Rumley of Mount Airy; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
