Early Life: Blaine was born at home in Albion, Idaho, on October 12, 1921, to Leslie Thomas and Ida Broadhead Harper. He was the oldest of nine children. He graduated from Paul High School in 1939.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: Blaine then went to the University of Idaho in the fall of 1940. After Pearl Harbor, he joined the Naval Air V5. He flew the AT-6 & Vultee Vibrator in Corpus Christi, Texas. He then served in various Naval Air Stations and even practiced carrier landings out of Oakland. Blaine served a mission for the Church in the Central States Mission and married Hazel Joyce Taylor June 27, 1948, soon after his return. Together they had nine children living in both Idaho and Utah. After Joyce's death he married Nevaida Ries on December 28, 1987, and became a stepfather to seven children. In the fall of 1990, Blaine and Nevaida were called to serve in the Micronesia, Guam Mission and later in Nauvoo. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Blaine Broadhead Harper passed away peacefully with family at his side on December 14, 2014. He was 93.
