Elijah Luther “Elige” Abston was born on 16 Nov 1862 in Choctaw County, Alabama to John Jackson Abston and Mary Jane (Jenkins) Abston and died on 25 Nov 1960 in Gilbertown, Choctaw County, Alabama. He was 98 years old. Lige married Mary Elizabeth Taylor on 26 Feb 1891 in Choctaw County, Alabama. Elige and Mary were the parents of nine children: Ebbie L.; Clem; William Claborn; John; Pellie; Lula; Lora "Load"; Glennie; Coy “Tom”; and Ruby Mae. After Mary’s death, Elige married Lydia “Liddie” Mosley on 25 Dec 1913 in Choctaw County, Alabama. Elige and Liddie were the parents of seven children: Roy “Boug”; Vennie; Kiser; Rudder; Mattie Mae; Colley; and Billy.
