Calvin G. Gulley was the son of Thomas Nelson Gulley 1828 – 1881 and Anna King 1826 – 1884. His siblings were: James N Gulley 1848 – 1865; John Wesley Gulley 1849 – 1918; Isaac Nelson Gulley 1852 – 1902; Martha Jane Gulley 1854 – 1882 and Sarah Ellen Gulley 1856 – 1875.

Tennessee State Marriages reveals that Calvin married Margenia Walker on Jan 11, 1877. From this union the following children were born: Emma A Gulley 1878 – 1880; Nettie Penelope Gulley 1882 – 1947 and John Franklin Gulley 1885 – 1946.

On Aug. 23, 1866 Calvin married for the second time to Adelia Rebekah Moore. From this union was born the following children: Charles E Gulley 1887 – 1964; Robert Lee Gulley 1890 – 1904; Hugh G Gulley 1892 – 1969; Howard D. Gulley 1894 – 1943; Andy K Gulley 1895 – 1976;Ola Dell Gulley 1898 – 1987; Fannie Gulley 1899 and Callie Lee Gulley 1904 – 1994.

Calvin and Rebekah owned a farm in rural Saint Clair, Hawkins Co., Tennessee. All together their were 13 living in the household.
