Mr. Borthwick was born July 3, 1962 in Cleveland, Ohio. He moved to Indiana 25 years ago and was a devoted member to Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Carmel, Indiana and Christ Church of Zionsville, in Zionsville, Indiana, where he loved an invitation to lector on Sundays and enjoyed his dining group.
Mr. Borthwick graduated from Kent State University in 1988 with a master's degree in library science. He worked in elementary education and taught bible school for many years and was affectionately called, "Mr. B". He was proud of his Scottish heritage and was known to show up at many an occasion in his Clan Borthwick kilt with a wee twinkle in his eye. He was a quick-witted, profound thinker, and a talented and gifted writer who loved to be with people and tell stories. He was a lover of classical music, especially Beethoven and Bach. He was devoted to his family, church family and friends. He always had a kind word, or more, to offer his congregation. He was also proud of his lifelong, courageous battle with the complications of Tetralogy of Fallot, overcoming many challenges, and was an inspiration to those who knew him.
