Franklin, July 15 -- Mrs. Mary D. Keene, 84, died at 11 pm today at home, 1119 Buffalo Street, after an illness starting July 5. She was born in New York City in May, 1825.
She married Edward A. Keene in the east, who died 5 years ago.
She came with her husband to the oil regions in the days of the oil excitement along the creek, and located in Rouseville. Together they passed through the many vicissitudes and exciting scenes of the early life in this area. About 33 years ago the family moved to Franklin and lived here since in the family home on Buffalo Street, the scene of many pleasant gatherings when absent sons "came home" often to pay tribute of love to the parents.
Surviving are five sons, F. M., J. P., and W. J. Keene of Franklin, Edward A. Keene, night manager of the Western Union Cable department in New York, and Fred E. Keene of Omaha, NE.

Mrs. Mary D. Keene is dead at Franklin. She was the mother of Frank M. and William J. Keene, formerly of this city, now of Franklin.
Services will be announced. Burial will be in the family plot in Franklin Cemetery.
