She was preceded in death by grandchildren, Brian Goforth Denton and Tiffany Dawn Black, by her brothers, Ross, Glenn, Bonnie, and Julius Caldwell and by her sisters, Rosie Fletcher and Helen "Peg" Simon.
Mrs. Denton was a devoted homemaker to raising her five children. She was also an avid gardener of flowers and vegetables. She would supply her church with flowers and won many ribbons at the Cleveland County Fair for her flowers. She was a great cook, and all birthdays and holidays were very special at her home. Mrs. Denton was a member of First Wesleyan Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Interment in Gaston Memorial Park.
