Former Resident Dies In Salt Lake Hospital

Ervin William Andersen, 54, McCammon, died Saturday at St. Mark's hospital in Salt Lake City,Salt Lake,Utah of a tumor operation.
Mr. Andersen was born in Central,Caribou, Idaho, May 16, 1902, son of Neils and Moren Andersen. He lived at Central until his marriage December 12, 1921 at Soda Springs to Alda Hanson. The marriage was solemnized at Logan, Utah, L. D. S. Temple, October 22, 1948. He lived at Alexander and in Wyoming for a time before moving to McCammon in October,1941. He had been employed for 35 years by the Union Pacific railroad as maintenance foreman.
An Elder in the McCammon L. D. S. Ward, Mr. Andersen had served as ward clerk since 1949. He had served as a ward teacher and drama ditector, and for a number of years was superintendent of the Mutual Improvement Association. He was also manager of the McCamnon baseball team for several years.
Survivors include his widow, three sons, Ervin LaVern (Any) Pocatello; Eugene Albert, Logan; and Lyle H., American Falls; three daughters, Mrs. Grant (Betty) Farnworth, Weiser; Mrs. Cecil (Norma) Armstrong, Mountain Home; and Carolyn, McCammon; three brothers, Neils and Wi1ford Andersen of Central; and Leland; Pocatello; one sister, Mary Hegstrom, Pocatello; and 14 grandchildren.
Services were held,-October.-24, at 1:00 p. m. in the McCammon L.D.S. Ward Church with Bibhop Joseph Vorris officiating.
Prayer at home was by Bishop Conrad Sanders, organ prelude Jeannine Cammack; invocation - President Henry Cammack; vocal selection, ladies' sextette, "My Father"; life sketch by Lyndi Green; speaker, President Kenneth Christensen; remarks, Reid Cammack; vocal selection, Valley Quartet, "Beyond the Sunset"; speaker - President James Criddle; remarks, Bishop Joseph Morris; vocal solo- Ruth Kay Andersen, "That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine"; benediction, Bishop,Verl Hall. graveside solo, Terry Andersen, "End of a Perfect Day", trumpet solo; dedication of grave, Bishop Russell Sorenson.
Interment was 1n the Central cemetery.
Pall bearers were DeWinn Andersen, Eldon Sorenson, LeRoy Hegstrom, Leland Andersen,Jr.,Waldo Andersen, Darrell Sorenson, Bud Hegstrom and Jimmy Andersen.
Floral arrangements were by the McCammon Ward Relief Society, Millicent Brower, president.
