William G. Bair , 69, of 1109 Kingman died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1998, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born Sept. 17, 1928, in Peoria to Silas E. and Helen K. Smith Bair, he married A. Sue Williams on Jan. 20, 1949, in Mississippi. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mary Bair of Peoria Heights, Sharon Bair of Aurora, Colo., and Janice Bateson of Oceanside, Calif.; and one sister, Betty Nelson of Denver.
One brother preceded him in death.
A Navy veteran, he was a member of Navy Club Ship 34 in Peoria Heights.
He worked for Foremost Electric in Peoria and later in East Peoria for 40 years, retiring in 1992.
He was a member of the Peoria Heights Volunteer Fire Department for 42 years, where he served as fire chief for 40 years.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
