Son of the late Doff and Dovie Whitworth Bradford, he was born March 11, 1937 in Cooke County, Texas. He married Linda Saltsman on January 7, 1960 in Tioga. She preceded him in death on July 23, 1999.

He worked in shipping and receiving for Starlight Sign Company in Denton. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp., and was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors are his children, Lisa Carter of Denison, Barry Bradford of Denton and Mary Simmons of Valley View; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Velma Reed of Whitesboro, Nadine Graves and husband, Joe of Tioga, Joyce Kays and husband Fred of Woodbine, and Lois Ann Osburn and husband, Charles of Pilot Point; 2 brothers, Ed Bradford and wife, Norma of Aubrey and Archie Bradford of Whitesboro; one half brother, Bob Bradford of Abilene; and one uncle, Doyle Whitworth of Tioga.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Warlow, one great-grandchild, three sisters, three brothers, seven half sisters and two half brothers.
