RONALD RINKER OBITUARY FROM THE ADVOCATE
Ronald "Ron" Rinker, resident of Denham Springs, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Carpenter House in Baton Rouge at the age of 77. He was born on September 14, 1937 in Topeka, KS. Ron grew up in Solomon, KS; and served in the Army in Fort Riley, KS. He moved to Baton Rouge in 1967. Ron married Theresa Gibbs on September 30, 1971. He was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denham Springs. Ron loved being with family and friends, playing cards, cruising the river, traveling, and LSU football and baseball. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Una Rinker, and brother, Keith Rinker. Ron is survived by his loving and caring wife of 43 years, Theresa; stepsons, Johnny Gibbs and wife Kathy, Arthur Gibbs and wife Jan, and Mike Gibbs and wife Gaynell; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Jan Smart, and Carol Siebert and husband Dave; and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-law, and friends. Special thanks to the staff at Charlie's Place and Carpenter House for their kindness and compassion. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Sunday, December 14, 2014 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 865 Hatchell Ln. in Denham Springs, from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Mass begins at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ron's name to Charlie's Place Respite Center, 3772 North Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70806.
